Green Hell Conquered: Epic Comebacks and a Podium for RSR at the Nürburgring 24H
The Nürburgring Nordschleife is entirely unforgiving. A 24-hour race through the "Green Hell" is the ultimate test of attrition, strategy, and pure survival. The line between absolute disaster and motorsport glory is millimeters thin, and this past weekend, Rocky Sim Racing walked that line to absolute perfection.
We headed into the iRacing Nürburgring 24H with massive ambitions and a three-car GT3 assault. But in endurance racing, things rarely go exactly to plan. After a grueling qualifying session, all three of our entries found themselves starting deep in the pack—well outside the Top 20.
For an amateur team, that’s a demoralizing start. For RSR Esports, it’s simply a target-rich environment. What followed was a masterclass in pace, patience, and pitwall execution.
he Comeback Kings: Slicing Through the Field
You do not win a 24-hour race in the first corner, but you can certainly lose it. Starting from 20th position or worse means navigating heavy, unpredictable multi-class traffic while managing fuel, tires, and incident points. Our drivers put their heads down and executed flawlessly.
RSR Purple (RSR2) – Ferrari GT3 | 3rd Place (Podium!) An absolutely monumental drive. The RSR2 crew refused to accept their starting position, methodically hunting down the field hour after hour. Surviving the darkness and the inevitable chaos of the Nordschleife, RSR Purple fought their way from 20+ all the way to a stunning 3rd-place podium finish.
RSR White (RSR3) – BMW GT3 | 8th Place Proving the sheer depth of our roster, RSR White matched the tenacity of their teammates. Starting deep in the grid, the BMW crew ran a clinical race, avoiding the major wrecks and carving their way up the standings to secure a highly respectable Top-10 finish.
RSR Red (RSR1) – Mercedes GT3 | 11th Place Our defending champions faced an uphill battle from the drop of the green flag. Navigating the treacherous 25-kilometer circuit from the back of the pack, RSR Red showcased the grit that earned them the crown last year, battling through the field to secure a hard-fought 11th place.
New Blood on the Roster
A massive team result like this requires every single driver to pull their weight. We want to extend a huge congratulations to our newest drivers, Brandon and Patrik. Jumping into the deep end at the Nürburgring 24H is no small feat, and they proved instantly that they have the pace, consistency, and race craft to compete at the highest tier of endurance sim racing. Welcome to the RSR family, gentlemen.
The Tech Advantage: Strategy Won on the Pitwall
You don't make up 17+ positions in a 24-hour race relying solely on raw pace; you do it on the Lovely Sim Racing pitwall. This is where our technological integrations proved to be the ultimate competitive advantage.
For this event, our race engineers relied entirely on the Lovely Sim Racing Dashboard and their newly implemented TeamLinq platform. Having real-time, blazing-fast telemetry streamed directly from the cars to our strategists allowed us to manage the chaos.
We could actively monitor fuel numbers, tire degradation, and traffic gaps without forcing the drivers to take their eyes off the track. We didn't have to guess when to pit or how to manage a stint—we had the data. It was the crucial tool that allowed our strategists to guide all three cars through the field.
Flawless Stints in "The Dark Simulator"
Back at RSR Headquarters, The Dark Simulator performed flawlessly. Dialed in specifically for the Mercedes GT3, the custom D-BOX motion profiles and Simucube feedback translated the brutal reality of the Nordschleife perfectly. Shayne’s stints in the rig were locked in, with the high-fidelity hardware allowing him to push the absolute limits of the Mercedes without stepping over the edge.
The Journey Continues
From Sebring glory to conquering the Green Hell, the 2026 endurance season is proving to be a massive success for Rocky Sim Racing. We are proving that high-end hardware, data-driven strategy, and elite driver talent are an unbeatable combination.
We’ll take a brief moment to celebrate the podium, analyze the telemetry, and then it’s right back to work.
